Some ghost towns with no evidence remaining are the Carwye Ghost Town and the Repass Ghost Town. The Piedmont Ghost Town is still active.

Hiking areas you may be interested in include: Little Elk Creek Trail, and the Natural Maze.
Water features in this area include: Dalton Lake, Deadman Creek Water Crossing, Elk Creek and Little Elk Creek.
A favorite locations for most riders is the Nemo Flagpole. A memorial flag in this area is called the Piedmont Flagpole.
AFTER A GREAT DAY OF RIDING, RELAX AT THE WHITETAIL CREEK RESORT CREEK-SIDE PAVILLION.

With a little bit of a hike you can visit the famous Horsethief Cave.
There are width restricted trails in this area.

The Black Hills have great ATV trails and Forest Service roads. I have traveled most of them. Our forest service roads are either road-like or trail-like. On my Favorite Rides pages, I have highlighted the many TRAIL-LIKE Forest Service Roads.
