  1. The Black Hills has great ATV trails and Forest Service roads. I have traveled most of them. Our forest service roads are either road-like or trail-like. On my Favorite Rides pages, I have highlighted the many TRAIL-LIKE Forest Service Roads.

I put this website together to help others enjoy their ATV visit to South Dakota. When I ATV out of my state, I realize how difficult it is to plan a three day ride without good information. I hope my website will be good information for you.

Over 1000 visitors a month use this website. Let us know what you think about Black Hills atving!

  2. thanks for this info gives me any my family many places to check out. we go out once a year as a family vacation to ride the trails and enjoy the outdoors.

    • I am happy the website is good for your family. Enjoy your Black Hills atv adventure. If you find any other hidden treasures let me know.

Great website Darold. Looks like plenty of trails to keep us busy for awhile. Anyone that you know around the Terry Peak area that would be interested in guiding us around a little while at the end of Aug.? We have 3 sxs. Thanks

Hello! Taking my first trip up to the black hills to ride dirt bikes this next weeked 7-23/7-25. Have to idea of where to stay. We want some good technical single track trails that we can ride to from a camp site. It would also be nice if there was a restaurant or bar within riding distance! Any good advice or recommendations? Thanks!

    • Brett: Although I am not an expert on single track trails, the map shows some extensive single track trails in the Pilot Knob and Riley Hill Favorite Rides. I have ridden the two-track trails in these areas and they are somewhat technical. http://blackhillsdestinations.com/?page_id=4223 This is near the mecca of the Black Hills trail system and is well serviced by food and camping businesses. Look on the map for trails displayed as dark dots in Favorite Rides like Pilot Knob, Riley Hill, Custer Peak and South Boxelder. Enjoy!
