LITTLE ELK CREEK HIKING TRAIL

Little Elk Creek Trailhead

*requires off-atv walking

A nice trail hidden in the history of the Blackhills. Once a road but washed out during the 1972 flood, now an easy, level trail that skirts Little Elk Creek. A mile walk from the Eastern trailhead gets you to White Gate Rock. A little further to Red Gate Rock. Three plus miles walking will take you to Dalton Lake. Or make Dalton Lake your starting point.

If you are atving out of Piedmont, Dalton Lake or in the Beaver Park area, and want a half day off-atv activity this could be it.
