ATV Trails China Trailhead (Hill City)

SAM_0206 a

This is now a “former” trailhead that would take you into the Hill City mining district. It still has value though because old cabins, waterfalls, historic mines are all found on these trails and Forest Service roads. The Forest Service no longer shows this trailhead because of funding issues.

Staying in the Hill City area puts you center in the tourist mega, so you can ride one day and tourist another.

  1. The Black Hills have great ATV trails and Forest Service roads. I have traveled most of them. Our forest service roads are either road-like or trail-like. On my Favorite Rides pages, I have highlighted the many TRAIL-LIKE Forest Service Roads and the ATV trails.

I put this website together to help others enjoy their ATV visit to South Dakota. When I ATV out of my state, I realize how difficult it is to plan a three day ride without good information. I hope my website will be good information for you.
